Taiwan Travel FAQ

Planning your 2026 adventure to Taiwan? At Get Me To Taiwan, we want to make your journey as seamless as possible.

We offer three distinct ways to explore: our budget-friendly Public Group Tours, our flexible Private Car Charters, and our premium Guided Private Tours. Check out our most common questions below to help you plan the perfect experience.

🌐 2026 Logistics & Entry

Most foreign visitors (including those on visa-exempt stays like US tourists) must complete the digital Taiwan Arrival Card (TWAC) within 3 days prior to arrival. This free online system has replaced all paper forms. To verify if your specific nationality or visa type requires it, please visit the official National Immigration Agency (NIA) Portal before your trip.

Chinese New Year 2026 runs from February 14 to February 21.
  • 🚌 Public Group Tours & 💎 Guided Private Tours: These are not available during this week to allow our local team to celebrate with their families.
  • 🚗 Private Car Charters: Limited service is available during the holiday period for an additional holiday surcharge. We recommend booking at least 3 months in advance to secure a vehicle for these dates.
  • Note: Once we have the 2027 schedule (Chinese New Year falls on February 6, 2027), we will update the specific details and holiday surcharge information for next year. We recommend booking at least 3 months in advance to secure a vehicle for these dates.
On these tours, you will join other travelers on a tour bus. You will be led by a Professional Licensed Tour Guide who provides in-depth cultural commentary and accompanies the group inside attractions.
Per Taiwan safety regulations for large vehicles (tour buses), child safety seats are not mandatory. For children aged 0-4, it is standard practice to sit on an adult’s lap. For families who require a dedicated safety seat, we highly recommend our Private Car Charters.

✨ Private Services (Exclusive Experience)

  • 🚗 Private Car Charter: You have a vehicle and an experienced English-speaking Driver. They manage logistics and provide basic commentary while driving, but they typically do not accompany you inside attractions.
  • 💎 Guided Private Tour: This is our premium service. In addition to a professional driver, a Professional Licensed Tour Guide sits in the car exclusively with your group. They will accompany you inside every attraction to provide deep historical and cultural storytelling.
Yes. Since these tours use smaller vehicles (5-seater or 9-seater), car seats are legally mandatory for children aged 0-4. We provide one car seat for free. For 9-seater vans, a second seat can be requested for TWD 300, payable directly to your driver in cash.
Definitely. While we provide curated sample routes, our Private Car Charters are built for your freedom. You can suggest your own stops, and once your booking is confirmed, our team will help you fine-tune the timing and logistics.
